Requirements:
- Electrician/Millwright Trade Qualification.
- Registered as an installation electrician.
- 5 to 10 years’ proven experience as a fully independent Electrician/Millwright.
- Conversant in English, Afrikaans, and Zulu.
- Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.
- Good fault-finding skills.
- Dependable, reliable, responsible, and fulfilling obligations.
- Integrity – Honest and ethical.
- Initiative – Take on responsibilities and challenges.
- Analytical thinking – Analysing information and using logic to address work related issues and problems.
- Adaptability/Flexibility – Job requires being open to change and to considerable variety in the workplace.

- Must be willing to work overtime and standby duties.
- Good general health.

- Working in confined spaces and at heights.
- Own Transport.
- Coal and oil-fired boiler experience.
- MV Transformer maintenance experience.
- Health and safety obligations.
- Be familiar with regulations (electrical machinery, pressure vessel, etc.)
- Ammonia experience will be advantageous.
- Must be able to work on refrigeration.
Functions and Duties (Included but not be limited to):
- Act as the GMR2.1 on site and accept responsibility for such appointment.
- Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly.
- Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations.
- Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime.
- Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
- Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones.
- Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts.
- Ensure that the machinery is operated within its design specifications.
- Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance management programmes and ensure the statutory machinery records are kept and maintained.
- Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts.
- Assist with electrical installation on Construction sites.
- Ad hoc tasks & functions.
