    Feedlot Maintenance Supervisor

    The above-mentioned position has become vacant at our Albert Falls feedlot.

    Karan Beef Farming is looking for a versatile and highly skilled Feedlot Maintenance Supervisor to lead our facility operations. You will be the primary lead for the feedlot’s physical footprint, ensuring that our cattle infrastructure, residential housing, and complex water systems are maintained to the highest standard.

    Requirements & Qualifications
    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • Proven Construction Background: Extensive experience in building construction and general trades.
    • Pipework Expertise: Hands-on experience with industrial or agricultural waterlines and plumbing systems.
    • Planning Skills: Ability to use maintenance software or organized scheduling systems to track work orders and project timelines.
    • Leadership: Experience managing a team and "owning" the results of a department.
    Primary Responsibilities
    Duties include but are not limited to:
    • Water & Pipeline Infrastructure: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of extensive waterline networks, including high-capacity troughs, pumps, and underground piping.
    • Building & Construction: Lead construction projects for the feedlot and on-property residential housing. This includes concrete work, structural repairs, and facility upgrades.
    • Strategic Planning: Develop and manage a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule. You will be responsible for planning all daily tasks and long-term capital projects.
    • Housing Maintenance: Manage the upkeep of employee/property housing, ensuring all utilities and structural components are in good condition.
    • Team Leadership: Supervise a maintenance crew, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and according to safety protocols.

    Human Resources Administrator Co-Ordinator - Temporary

    The above-mentioned position has become vacant at our feedlot in Heidelberg.

    The successful candidate must be a hands-on, motivated individual and must be in possession of the following listed below:

    Requirements:
    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • Min 4 years HR experience.
    • High level of confidentiality.
    • Computer literate.
    • Deadline-driven.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Strong planning and organising skills.
    • Ability to manage personnel.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    Functions and Duties (Included but are not limited to):
    • Check and capture employment contracts for all new staff on site.
    • Maintain the staff recruitment database.
    • Ensure all onboarding documentation for new staff is completed and submitted to the Feedlot.
    • Process and manage the administration of employee transfers, terminations, dismissals, abscondments, changes to bank details, and personal information updates.
    • Check and approve staff leave loaded on the ESS system.
    • Administer pension and provident fund documentation, including disability claims, death claims, and withdrawal forms.
    • Report, update, and maintain IODs on Compsol.
    • Handle all IOD administrative queries from the Department of Labour.
    • Assist the Clinic Sister with administration and record-keeping of all IODs.
    • Order medicine for the on-site clinic.
    • Order inventory stock for stores.
    • Process purchase requisitions for the HR and Training Department.
    • Manage month-end payroll closing processes.
    • Prepare all relevant employee documentation for month-end payroll submission.
    • Update and submit weekly and monthly timesheets to relevant departments.
    • Address daily HR administrative queries from staff.
    • Generate monthly reports.
    • Process monthly bonuses: receive approved documentation per department, verify, allocate to spreadsheets, and submit.
    • Generate Sage reports, including clinic lists, employee lists, and termination lists.
    • Conduct risk assessment screenings.
    • Perform HR and payroll-related administrative duties.
    • Filing and general HR administrative tasks.
    • Oversee the daily management of the HR Clerk.
    • Prepare UI-19 forms.
    • Perform ad hoc duties as required.
