Karan Beef Biltong

…Biltong - a delicacy of today - has its origins in the Great Trek. Pioneering colonists carried spiced and sun-dried meat on their journies northward from the Cape Colony - a halfway house for traders on the spice routes of the East. Various spices were blended with vinegar already being produced from French Hugenot vineyards in the Cape Province. Recipes of meat marinades have been handed down for generations. The roots of Karan Beef are also firmly planted in South African soil and, naturally, we use these historic blends in the preparation of our biltong.
